About the role
Job Description : Key Responsibilities : - Administer, monitor, and maintain MongoDB databases in production and non-production environments. - Design, deploy, and manage highly available MongoDB Replica Set and Sharded Cluster architectures. - Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and version migrations. - Manage MongoDB Ops Manager for deployment automation, monitoring, backup, and operational management. - Execute backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. - Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize database performance. - Perform capacity planning, storage management, and performance tuning. - Plan and execute database migration and upgrade activities with minimal downtime. - Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to support database-related initiatives. - Ensure database security, availability, and compliance with organizational standards. - Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. - Participate in production support, incident management, and root cause analysis. Required Skills & Experience : Technical Skills : - Strong hands-on experience in MongoDB Database Administration. - In-depth understanding of MongoDB architecture and internal components. - Expertise in MongoDB Replica Sets and high-availability configurations. - Strong experience with MongoDB Sharding and distributed database architectures. - Hands-on experience with MongoDB Ops Manager. - Expertise in MongoDB backup and restore strategies. - Experience in database patching, upgrades, and version management. - Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization. - Experience in database migration and upgrade projects. - Good knowledge of Mongo Query Language (MQL). - Good understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems. - Familiarity with database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning. Preferred Skills : - Knowledge of automation and scripting using Shell, Python, or similar languages. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage. - Understanding of database security, authentication, authorization, and encryption. - Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines is a plus. - Exposure to enterprise production environments and large-scale deployments. .
