About the role
As an experienced Firewall Configuration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in configuring, managing, and securing enterprise firewall environments to safeguard critical business systems and sensitive healthcare data. Your expertise in network security, firewall administration, threat prevention, and compliance best practices will be essential for this position. Key Responsibilities: - Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise firewall solutions such as Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, SonicWall, and Check Point. - Proficient in various technical skills including Firewalls (Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, Check Point, Juniper SRX), Security Technologies, Routing & Switching, SDN/SD-WAN, Load Balancing, Network Services, Cloud & Virtualization, and Automation & Monitoring. Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise firewall solutions. - Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and network protocols. - Familiarity with firewall platforms like Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, SonicWall, or Check Point. - Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, security best practices, and threat mitigation techniques. - Experience in implementing network security controls in regulated environments. - Proficient in troubleshooting and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications: - Possession of Firewall or security certifications (Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Cisco CCNP Security, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, etc.). - Experience with intrusion prevention systems (IPS), SIEM tools, and endpoint security solutions. - Understanding of healthcare IT environments and HIPAA compliance requirements. - Knowledge of cloud security and hybrid network environments.
