Quality Assurance Lead

As an SDET Lead at Codewinglet Pvt. Ltd., you will be responsible for owning quality across the full stack, including frontend, API, and backend. Your role will involve leading and mentoring a team of QA and automation engineers, defining test strategies, building automation frameworks, and collaborating with developers and architects to ensure production-grade quality. Key Responsibilities: - Own quality across the full stack, including frontend, web apps, REST/GraphQL APIs, backend, and database. - Design test strategies, test plans, and test cases for functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing. - Write automation frameworks from scratch and maintain them using Playwright (TypeScript/Python) or Selenium. - Automate regression, smoke, and functional suites, perform API automation and validation. - Conduct manual and API testing using Postman and Swagger, and validate backend data with MySQL queries. - Perform security testing using OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite, and performance/load testing using JMeter. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) with reporting and failure alerting. - Conduct root cause analysis across frontend, API, backend, and database layers. - Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps, and collaborate with developers to verify fixes. Leadership Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SDET and manual QA engineers. - Define and enforce quality standards, testing processes, and best practices across projects. - Own the overall test strategy and quality roadmap for assigned products. - Review test plans, automation code, and bug reports produced by the team. - Allocate work, track progress, and report quality metrics to stakeholders. - Drive release readiness decisions and sign off on production-grade quality. - Interview, onboard, and upskill new QA hires. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 4+ years of experience in software quality engineering with strong manual and automation testing. - Proven experience leading or mentoring a QA or automation team. - Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Playwright, or Selenium for automation. - Hands-on experience with Postman and Swagger for API validation. - Ability to independently trace bugs across frontend, API, and database layers. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions for automated testing, and BrowserStack, Jira, TestRail, Notion for manual testing. - Strong communication skills and the ability to challenge technical decisions constructively. - Ability to balance hands-on testing work with team management and planning.
