Automation Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Automation Quality Assurance Engineer to define, build, and scale our quality strategy with a strong focus on automation-first testing , while maintaining high standards in manual testing where required. This role requires hands-on leadership, deep technical expertise in automation frameworks, and the ability to drive quality across the full software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Own and drive the overall QA strategy , test architecture, and quality standards across products Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright or Selenium Lead automation efforts across UI, API, regression, and integration testing Ensure automation suites are fully integrated into CI/CD pipelines and provide fast, reliable feedback Define quality gates, test metrics, and release readiness criteria Lead and execute manual testing for complex, exploratory, and high-risk scenarios Implement risk-based and data-driven testing approaches for complex business logic Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to shift quality left Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing practices , such as intelligent test generation, test optimisation, and self-healing tests Review automation code, enforce best practices, and improve test reliability and performance Mentor and guide QA engineers, conducting reviews and sharing automation best practices Analyse requirements and designs to ensure testability and full coverage Identify, track, and resolve defects, working closely with developers to validate fixes Maintain clear test documentation including strategies, frameworks, and execution reports Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong automation-first background Proven experience leading or owning automation test frameworks Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies and test design techniques Hands-on experience with Playwright or Selenium for building and maintaining automation frameworks Solid understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript for automation scripting Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines , integrating automated tests into deployment workflows Strong familiarity with Git and standard version control workflows Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman or automated API test frameworks Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile practices Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills Technical Skills Automation Frameworks: Playwright, Selenium Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript Testing Types: UI, API, functional, regression, integration, exploratory Testing Methodologies: Automation-first testing, manual testing, risk-based testing CI/CD: Test execution and reporting within pipelines Tools: JIRA, TestRail or similar test management tools, Postman Databases: SQL and database validation Nice to Have Experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into automation testing frameworks Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React.js and Next.js to better understand component-level testing Experience testing modern web applications, SPAs, and SSR-based applications Experience with performance or security testing Exposure to cloud-based test execution or containerized environments
