About the role
Job Summary: A Principal Materials and Failure Analysis Engineer uses advanced knowledge of material characterization, semiconductor device physics, failure analysis, and analytical techniques to solve complex technical problems and continuously improve processes. This position is primarily focused on Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) analysis while leading the establishment and expansion of Coherent Sherman’s SIMS laboratory capabilities. The engineer serves as the site subject matter expert for SIMS and advanced materials characterization, supporting manufacturing, epitaxy, and R&D, quality, and product engineering teams while enabling improvements in product performance, yield, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
