The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

There is currently a strong need to expand our understanding of roadway mortality disparities, post crash care and trauma. Analyses could enable us to better identify and develop interventions and trauma care that address drivers of disparities at the neighborhood level. While we often examine motor vehicle outcomes and trauma care at the state and county level, using such large geographic units (e.g., counties) can mask underlying geographic disparities. Our aim is to use an enhanced database that integrates neighborhood level factors to better identify, characterize, and quantify risks and protective factors for trauma and motor vehicle traffic injury and death.

The short-term casual will assist Dr. Pressley in the identification, recoding and quality checks on neighborhood level variables; assist with analyses, preparation of tables, figures and report writing; and provide support for scoping literature reviews and other duties as necessary support project activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with using multiple data sets to recode variables, review and assist with data variable quality checks, review and writing of computer codes and analytics relating to rural and underserved populations 20%

• Assist with literature and scoping reviews for injury prevention in underserved populations, resource limited communities, and related work 30%

• Assist with data analysis, producing tables and figures, and report writing 40%

• Assist with summarizing best practices for underserved populations 5%

• Other duties as assigned 5%

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s level quantitative and detail-oriented individual with computer skills in SAS and/or R. Coursework in biostatistics, epidemiology and/or a related field is desired.

• Must be skilled in the use of statistical software packages SAS and/or R.

• Experience using Microsoft office, conducting literature reviews, data analysis, report writing, data recoding. Use of a reference software and Covidence, is desired.
