The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Department of Surgery is seeking a Student Research Worker (CU Student). We are looking for a highly motivated master’s-level computer science student with an interest in computer vision. The primary role will be to enhance an existing cardiac surgical video analysis pipeline by expanding anatomy recognition models to support AI-assisted surgery.
Responsibilities

Maintain and augment the existing pipeline of surgical video analysis modules.

Develop a pipeline using Segment Anything 2 for semi-automated anatomy segmentation.

Aiding other module development relating to AI-assisted cardiac surgery.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.

Technical training or equivalency, and 6 months of related laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Undergraduate degree, graduate student (Master or PhD program) in computer science, with intermediate coding experience in Python.

Coding skills as above.

Experience with deep learning projects, Pytorch familiarity.
