Overall Purpose: The candidate will be responsible for requirements gathering and analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of analytical, statistical/mathematical programming, optimization and decision support systems. Additionally, will work with a large amount of data from diverse, complex and frequently unrelated sources and be able to perform data analyses/mining, data cleansing, data integration and occasional mathematical/data modeling with little or no guidance. Roles & Responsibilities: 1) Requirements gathering and analysis; Architect solution and implement with Agile methodology. 2) Data acquisition, data ETL, data cleansing, data mining, data integration and some statistical analyses and programming. 3) Implement data modeling, statistical/mathematical, linear or optimization programming models. 4) Oracle databases/tables design, database development, data structure indexing, database partitioning, database performance monitoring and tuning; database backup and replication. 5) Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs. 6) Setup and administer document/file transfer/depository systems such as FTP, SSH, Sharepoint drive or other similar technologies. 7) Writes code and completes programming and documentation using programming language and technology in Unix/Linus and/or web environment. Performs testing and debugging of applications. 8) Web-applications with multiple levels/dimensions of securities, inside/outside firewalls, eCommerce like with encryption or equivalent technologies. Specifically, detailed knowledge and experience with the eCDW data warehouse as well as Business specific applications/data such as Premiere, would go a long way towards ensuring the candidate would contribute immediately upon joining the team. The primary functions for this specific role are rooted in data; finding data, compiling data, transforming data, storing data, and delivering data to our client groups. As such the following skills are the most essential in this role. 1. Data Engineering - Includes Data acquisition/wrangling, data ETL, data cleansing, data mining, data integration with data quality controls. This also includes understanding of load strategies and data storage / data modeling principles and best practices in Snowflake. Highly skilled in SQL is a must, additional experience in Python is a nice to have. 2. Requirements gathering and analysis- candidate needs to have the ability to interact directly with clients and iterate through / understand requirements, and in turn architect a solution through data engineering and design to achieve client goals. This includes being able to take direction as well as leveraging their underlying knowledge of the data to identify alternative solutions as needed. 3. Communicate Effectively - Candidate will need to directly interact with clients through our iterative cycles of data deliverables. Communication, both written and verbal, are critical to the success of the candidate as they work with these clients and other members of the team in an effort to ensure quality and effectiveness of their work. 4. Work Independently - This is a small team which means it is expected that each team member will be able to deliver results and work independently for the majority of the time. Support is available, and the team shares insights and knowledge as able, but the candidate should be able to produce without constant oversight by working with the business customers and identifying targeted questions for the analytics team / management / analyst community. 5. Data Analysis / Business Intelligence - Ability to use one or more data tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, etc.) to build visualizations, reporting, and extract key insights from data.
