Python Automation Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh (5 days onsite in office)

Contract: W2 only, 6-12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI

Pay: $55/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview

Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions. Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required. Facilitates complex problem resolution. Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software. Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.

Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.

Facilitates complex problem resolution.

Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues.

Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.

Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience in Python (3+ years typical)

Proficiency in: OOP concepts, modular design, data structures and algorithms, package management and dependency handling

Experience building scalable applications and utilities

Test Automation Frameworks

Experience with at least one Python-based automation stack: PyTest / unittest frameworks, Selenium WebDriver for UI automation, Playwright (modern web automation)

Ability to automate: UI testing (web apps), API testing (REST services), and integration/system testing

Good understanding of: test design (BDD/TDD concepts), test data management, assertions and validations

Create and execute manual test cases for both UI and backend applications

Experience using Jira and generating test summary reports
