Backend Software Development Engineer - Node.js/Javascript

As a Software Development Engineer (Backend) based in Mumbai - Vikhroli, you will play a key role in building and scaling high-performance systems using Node.js and TypeScript. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing scalable backend systems, building RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring application performance and scalability, collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing clean and testable code, and participating in system design discussions. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop scalable backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript - Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices - Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of applications - Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams for end-to-end delivery - Write clean, maintainable, and testable code - Participate in system design and architecture discussions - Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, APIs, and databases - Experience in building backend systems for real-world usage - Ability to work across different stages of product development Qualifications Required: - 3-6 years of backend development experience - Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and TypeScript - Solid understanding of APIs, backend architecture, and system design basics - Experience working in product-based companies - Good problem-solving skills and understanding of data structures Good to Have: - Experience with NestJS - Exposure to microservices architecture - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Candidate Profile: - Open to relocation to Mumbai - Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability by working across multiple cities/locations - Comfortable with a 5-day work-from-office setup - Strong ownership mindset and ability to thrive in fast-paced product environments In addition, candidates who have spent their entire career in a single city without relocation exposure may not be suitable for this role.
