Role Overview: Corning, a global innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science, invites you to join their team where breakthroughs are a way of life. Key Responsibilities: - Lead root cause analysis activities related to Process & Equipment failures using Problem Solving approaches such as DMAIC, MEE, etc. - Troubleshoot material, process, and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to enhance yield, uptime, and safety. - Identify and implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation. - Utilize rigorous processes and technical knowledge to develop a detailed technical understanding of key process steps. - Support new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training. - Ensure the safety of operators and equipment, complying with safety and environmental regulations. - Proficient in statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) for process problem-solving and improvement. - Provide general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge, capable of leading projects to identify root causes of issues and implement permanent solutions. - Recommend and implement permanent solutions for long-term performance issues, enhancing existing and new technologies and processes. - Drive cost reduction initiatives through scrap reduction and process efficiency gains. - Participate in automation, digitization, and Industry 4.0 projects for manufacturing processes. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from a premium institute - Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and statistical analysis - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex process issues. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. - Solid understanding of Safety and Quality - Proficiency in MS Access - Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in a similar capacity and responsibility in a reputable firm. Desired Experiences/Education: - Six Sigma Black Belt certification - Knowledge of Automation and basic control systems - Previous experience in a multinational corporation (MNC) background.
