Avionics & Test Systems Engineer (Instrumentation and Controls) We are developing advanced liquid rocket propulsion and launch vehicle systems and are looking for a multidisciplinary engineer to own the development of propulsion test instrumentation, DAQ/control systems, and early-stage avionics architecture. This role spans propulsion testing, electronics, automation, embedded systems, and launch vehicle avionics. The ideal candidate is hands-on, capable of working from first principles, and comfortable building both hardware and software systems for rocket engine development and testing. Educational Qualification: Master's (preferred) in Instrumentation and Control, Embedded Systems, Aerospace, Automation, Power Electronics, IoT (or any other relevant discipline), or Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Aerospace (or any other relevant discipline) with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities: Design and integrate DAQ systems for high-speed data acquisition and synchronized logging Develop sensor architectures for pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, strain, load, and rotational measurements Define wiring, grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC practices for reliable test operations Develop safety interlocks and automated test sequencing systems Develop control systems for propulsion test rigs and fluid systems using LabVIEW Design control cabinets, interface electronics, signal conditioning, and power distribution systems Design custom electronics modules and interface boards where required Support static fire testing, turbopump testing, valve characterization, and subsystem qualification campaigns Required Qualities: Experience with instrumentation and DAQ systems Experience with NI LabVIEW (Intermediate to Advanced Level) Strong hands-on engineering and troubleshooting capability Understanding of sensors, signal conditioning, and industrial communication systems Willing to work in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment Knowledge of control systems and real-time systems Preferred Qualities: Experience with embedded C/C++ development Familiarity with PCB design tools Ability to work across hardware and software domains High degree of attention to detail Demonstrated capability to work efficiently with little to no supervision The ideal candidate is deeply hands-on, capable of independently building and debugging systems, comfortable moving between software, electronics, instrumentation, and propulsion hardware, and excited about building rocket systems from the ground up.
