About the role
As a Backend Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot) - Building scalable and fault-tolerant systems to handle high traffic and large data volumes - Designing clean and efficient RESTful APIs and service contracts - Collaborating with frontend, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end features - Optimizing system performance, latency, and throughput - Ensuring high code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices - Debugging production issues and ensuring system reliability and uptime - Participating in system design and architectural decisions - Owning services end-to-end, including development, deployment, and monitoring In addition to the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge: - Strong proficiency in Java - Hands-on experience with Spring Boot / Spring Framework - Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OOPs concepts - Experience building and consuming REST APIs - Strong knowledge of databases, including Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and basics of NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, etc.) - Understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and JVM internals - Familiarity with caching strategies (Redis, in-memory caching) - Experience with Git and version control workflows - Good to Have: Experience with deployment strategies such as Blue-Green deployments, Canary releases, and Rolling deployments - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.) - Basic experience with AWS / cloud infrastructure: EC2, S3, RDS, Load balancers, auto-scaling - Experience with Docker and containerization - Knowledge of microservices architecture and service communication (REST/gRPC, Kafka) - Familiarity with message queues / streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) - Experience with monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) - Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, OAuth, JWT) Qualifications required for this role include: - 4 years of backend development experience - BTech / BE in Computer Science This job offers you the opportunity to work on challenging projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
