About the role

As a DB2 Database Administrator for our client based in Noida, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high availability and optimal performance of IBM DB2 (LUW) environments. Your responsibilities will include: - Database Administration & Maintenance: - Install, configure, and create DB2 instances and database environments - Create and manage database objects like tables, indexes, tablespaces, and views - Perform maintenance activities including reorganization and implementing naming conventions - Estimate and manage database storage requirements - Backup & Recovery: - Design and implement backup strategies and perform database restores - Execute redirect restores across different servers - Ensure point-in-time recovery - Performance Tuning & Monitoring: - Monitor database health using tools and perform tuning at DB and query level - Analyze explain plans, recommend index improvements, and tune configuration parameters - High Availability & Replication: - Work on HADR setup and manage replication between primary and standby servers - Security & Access Control: - Grant and manage user-level permissions, implement security policies, and compliance standards - Troubleshooting & Support: - Troubleshoot issues related to logs, tablespaces, and database descriptors - Resolve I/O failures, data corruption, and performance bottlenecks - Upgrades & Enhancements: - Perform DB2 version upgrades, maintain rollback plans, and implement patches In addition to the technical responsibilities, you will also collaborate with application and infrastructure teams, assist in optimizing SQL queries, and perform day-to-day database administration and support activities.
