Automation Design Engineer

As a Design Engineer specializing in Automation and Special Purpose Machines (SPM), your role will involve the design and development of automation systems and SPMs. This includes tasks such as mechanical calculations, conveyor systems design, and material handling solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass concept development, detailed engineering, cross-functional coordination, and team management. Key Responsibilities: - Structural and sheet metal design with accurate calculations - Designing conveyor systems including chain pull and load calculations - Developing automated material handling and storage systems - Conceptualizing designs and facilitating product development - Creating Bills of Materials (BOM) - Performing 2D drafting and 3D modeling using SolidWorks - Troubleshooting design-related issues effectively Cross-Functional Coordination: - Collaborating with Manufacturing, Electrical, Software, and Project teams - Ensuring timely delivery of technically sound solutions - Supporting prototype development, testing, verification, and validation Process Improvement & Innovation: - Identifying opportunities for workplace improvements and change management initiatives - Researching and implementing energy-efficient and green design solutions - Reviewing drawings for practicality and efficiency Team & Project Management (Senior Role): - Leading and mentoring the design team - Planning resources and coordinating projects - Supervising mechanical and electrical testing - Evaluating IP compliance and design validation - Utilizing data analysis for design optimization Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Software Skills: - Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory) - Familiarity with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint This is a full-time position offering benefits such as health insurance, provident fund, and a work location that requires in-person presence.
