About the role

As an entry-level/early career Product Validation Engineer at Cummins, you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of electronic and electrical systems in Cummins products. Your responsibilities include: - Understanding software requirements, system architecture, and use cases to define comprehensive test strategies. - Developing and executing test cases across different levels of testing such as unit, integration, system, and regression. - Setting up test environments by configuring and validating test benches, ECUs, target hardware, and debugging tools. - Executing tests on embedded systems and AUTOSAR platforms, capturing logs, analyzing results, and maintaining test evidence. - Investigating system and application issues, performing root cause analysis, and preparing test reports and defect metrics. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM field is required. - Masters degree in a related discipline is preferred for select roles. - May require compliance with export control regulations. Skills & Competencies: - Strong understanding of software testing methodologies. - Knowledge of embedded systems, ECUs, and automotive communication protocols. - Familiarity with AUTOSAR platforms and validation environments. - Experience with debugging and testing tools such as TRACE32, JTAG, CANoe, CANalyzer, and NI TestStand. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Understanding of system requirements engineering and verification processes. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to manage complexity, prioritize tasks, and deliver results effectively. Experience: - 5-8 years of experienced candidate. - Exposure to automotive systems, test tools, or validation environments is an advantage. - Basic knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
