Global Mfg. Quality Engineer-Welding Specialist

We are looking for a talented Welding Engineer – Senior to join our team remotely, specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins’ business based out of Indianapolis, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways

• Drive manufacturing excellence by leading the development and implementation of welding processes that consistently meet safety, quality, productivity, and business performance objectives.

• Improve product quality and reliability by applying advanced welding expertise to optimize process parameters, reduce defects, and ensure compliance with product specifications and industry standards.

• Lead strategic process improvement initiatives by leveraging continuous improvement methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, lower costs, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.

• Establish and standardize best practices by developing welding standards, procedures, and working methods that improve consistency, repeatability, and operational effectiveness across multiple projects and facilities.

• Influence critical business and technical decisions by partnering with business leaders, functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to align welding strategies with organizational goals.

• Advance manufacturing capabilities by identifying, evaluating, and implementing new welding technologies, equipment improvements, and innovative processes that strengthen competitive advantage.

• Lead complex cross-functional projects by coordinating internal and external resources, managing priorities, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful execution of multiple welding-related initiatives.

• Build organizational capability and expertise by coaching stakeholders, mentoring team members, and serving as a technical leader who elevates welding knowledge, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
