JOB DESCRIPTION Tech Lead / Senior Full Stack Developer: 5 Days - WFO - Chennai Role Summary: The Tech Lead is the single point of accountability for Cyient's delivery on the EWIRE modernisation programme at BIETC. This role combines hands-on full stack engineering with sprint leadership, stakeholder management, and technical governance across four milestones spanning reporting enhancements, Plugmap improvements, discrete scheduling, and shift-handover collaboration. The Tech Lead interfaces directly with the BIETC M&Q Wiring Manufacturing System team and programme management and is expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and independence within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives in coordination with BIETC Technical Contact Drive architecture and design decisions for the EWIRE Web application - a modernised full-stack replacement of legacy Microsoft Access and paper-based workflows Conduct and chair bi-weekly technical peer code review meetings; enforce coding standards Deliver weekly written status reports to BIETC M&Q Manager by 6 PM IST every Friday - covering accomplishments, upcoming work, risks, and issues Provide biweekly written status to PM with PR throughput, test pass/failure metrics, and resource utilisation Attend and represent Cyient in all programme ceremonies: Daily Scrum, Quarterly PI Planning, bi-weekly Agile ceremonies, and technical review/demo sessions Engineering Delivery: Design and develop RESTful APIs for EWIRE Web - integrating with existing 7 report types, Plugmap, and new scheduling and collaboration modules Build responsive, accessible UI components in Angular (or React JS) aligned with UX direction agreed during requirement discussions Architect and manage SQL/Oracle database schemas - data modelling, query optimisation, and schema migration for the 15.8 million-record data volume Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab / Azure DevOps (ADO); integrate with TANZU-hosted environments Deploy and operate cloud-native applications on TANZU and AWS (EC2, EKS, Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB) Leverage AI-assisted development tools - Amazon Q, Amazon Kiro, Codex CLI - to accelerate delivery Ensure ITAR compliance: work exclusively in dev environment with scrap data; no access to production or sensitive data Quality & Documentation: Deliver working software with minimal rework - high quality is non-negotiable per performance standards Ensure unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end (Selenium/Cucumber) tests are authored alongside every feature Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, database schemas, and system architecture in ADO/SharePoint Provide mitigation plans and revised ECDs to BIETC Technical Contact if sprint commitments are at risk Technical Skills & Qualifications: Frontend: Angular (primary) • React JS Responsive UI design • Component-based architecture Backend: .Net Core (mandatory) • RESTful API design & development Microservices architecture • SOLID design principles Databases: SQL Server • Oracle Data modelling & schema design • Query optimisation (15M+ record scale) Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS EC2, EKS, Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB • VMware TANZU Docker • Kubernetes DevOps & CI/CD: GitLab CI/CD • Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines Azure Repos / GitHub • Azure Artifacts / Docker Registry Testing: Unit testing (.Net xUnit / NUnit) • Selenium WebDriver Cucumber BDD framework • Integration & E2E test strategy Tooling: Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 Professional • VS Code ADO Boards & Test Plans • SharePoint Amazon Q / Amazon Kiro / Codex CLI Process & Methodology: SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) • Sprint planning & PI planning Agile backlog management • Technical risk management Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent Relevant industry certifications in cloud (AWS/Azure), SAFe, or software engineering are advantageous Behavioural Expectations: Takes full ownership and accountability of tasks assigned -no handholding expected Responds quickly to changing project needs within an agile environment Maintains high ethical standards in engineering practices and safeguards sensitive project and company data Works seamlessly with BIETC resources, internal stakeholders, and M&Q SMEs Complies fully with ITAR regulations and security guidelines at all times
