About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer with 2-10 years of experience in stress analysis, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Expertise in structural analysis including static, non-linear, transient, and seismic analysis, as well as thermal analysis encompassing steady-state and transient analysis using ANSYS Classic and WB. - Proficiency in using Ansys Design-modeler or Space-claim to create 2D/3D models for Finite Element (FE) analysis. - Skilled in ANSYS APDL for developing or modifying macros, with additional knowledge of Ansys ACT being advantageous. - Capable of autonomously determining analysis procedures and offering alternative solutions. - Ability to validate analysis results through simplified hand calculations and/or mechanical component qualification using hand calculations. - Familiarity with ASME B&PV code Section III or Section VIII for mechanical component qualification, as well as ASME design by analysis principles. - Strong technical report writing skills using Microsoft Word. - Being a quick learner is essential as most projects will be unique. - Proficiency in working independently or with minimal supervision. - Knowledge of MathCad will be beneficial. - Experience in the field of nuclear power plants, particularly with PWR, BWR, CANDU plants, and nuclear valves, will be advantageous.
