About the role
Role Overview: At Wifi Dabba, you will be a part of a team that is dedicated to building a low-cost, scalable, and distributed Wi-Fi infrastructure to connect the next billion users online. Your role will involve actively troubleshooting issues during testing and deployment, managing code deployments and updates, and designing and scaling back-end systems and platforms. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued technical growth of the company through experimentation, learning, and rapid project iteration. Key Responsibilities: - Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and deployment, ensuring that problems are caught and solved before launch - Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes to improve the ability of teams to self-manage the code they deploy - Design and scale back-end systems and platforms, incorporating automation, monitoring, and observability as necessary - Continuously experiment, learn, and iterate on projects to drive technical growth Qualifications Required: - 4+ years of progressive relevant experience - Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructure and Linux/Unix system administration tasks on various Linux distributions with deep knowledge of Linux fundamentals - Experience with managing SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB - Proficiency in installing, configuring, and administrating RabbitMQ on multiple Windows environments - Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Saltstack, etc. - Working knowledge of Docker and other container environments, as well as container orchestration tools - Familiarity with web servers (e.g., Node.js experience is a plus) - Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including configuring, scaling, tuning, and monitoring - Additional experience with other cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, ACS, and Digital Ocean would be beneficial - Background in backend development and infrastructure development is advantageous Please note that this job description is specific to the role at Wifi Dabba (YC W17) and the qualifications required for this position.
