Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering & Product Architecture – Plymouth, MN – Remote
Daikin Applied is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering & Product Architecture to lead a cross-functional team focused on designing, developing, and integrating cutting-edge products. This role requires a deep understanding of system engineering principles, product architecture, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions that align with business objectives.

Location: Plymouth, MN, Remote
Your Responsibilities: Define system-level architecture, requirements, and specifications to meet business and customer needs Ensure end-to-end system integration and performance optimization across hardware and software Collaborate with product management to translate business needs into technical requirements Drive system design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations Maintain alignment between system architecture and product roadmap to ensure scalability and future-proofing Implement best practices in system engineering, model-based design, and architectural frameworks Work cross-functionally with software, hardware, and quality teams to ensure timely and successful product development Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for team members Oversee documentation, standards compliance, and technical reporting
Your Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, product architecture, or related discipline Strong knowledge of system design, integration, and lifecycle management Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and requirements management tools Familiarity with agile development methodologies and cross-functional team coordination Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills The ability to travel to MN one week per month (on average)
Your Preferred Qualifications: Experience in industries such as HVAC, aerospace, automotive, appliances, etc Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to system design Certification in systems engineering (INCOSE CSEP, ESEP) or related fields desirable

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $130,400 - $225,700 (plus a 25% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
