Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading planning, development, and execution of manufacturing engineering activities for transmission assembly and machining operations. Your role will involve ensuring seamless new model introduction, process optimization, quality compliance, and cross-functional coordination to meet organizational goals in quality, cost, delivery, and safety. Key Responsibilities: - Lead all manufacturing engineering activities for new model introduction in transmission shop - Ensure readiness of processes, equipment, tooling, and documentation as per project milestones - Conduct feasibility analysis for new processes, layouts, tooling, and product changes - Identify risks, propose countermeasures, and provide technical recommendations - Ensure Quality Gate outputs are met as per APQP and internal milestone plans - Plan, design, validate, and standardize critical processes for transmission components - Lead trials, capability studies, and implementation of new technology and automation - Drive continuous improvement, ergonomic enhancements, and lean initiatives - Reduce cycle time, improve process flow, and eliminate bottlenecks - Lead budgeting for equipment, tooling, and non-product projects - Track project progress and ensure adherence to approved cost and timeline targets - Investigate and resolve critical field issues linked to transmission manufacturing processes - Implement corrective and preventive measures and update process standards - Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, Logistics, LCIM, and Projects teams - Perform capacity studies based on volume projections and process capability - Evaluate outsourcing feasibility and coordinate with supplier teams - Ensure compliance and documentation readiness for IMS, IATF, EHS, and internal/external audits Qualification Required: - Candidates MUST have core Manufacturing Engineering experience specifically in Transmission Assembly / Transmission Machining operations. - Strong understanding of transmission assembly and testing processes - Experience with transmission measurement systems, sealant application systems, shim selection, and press equipment - Deep knowledge of transmission auto test benches - Layout planning, process planning, DFMEA, PFMEA, and value stream mapping - Equipment planning, RFQ preparation, vendor evaluation, installation, and commissioning - End-to-end project execution from concept to SOP cost, quality, and timeline ownership - MOST based time study and line balancing for transmission assembly lines - Siemens NX and AutoCAD proficiency for layout creation, process simulation, and engineering documentation Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading planning, development, and execution of manufacturing engineering activities for transmission assembly and machining operations.
