About the role
Role Description The Java Specialist will work in a part-time, hybrid capacity based in Lucknow, with flexibility to perform some responsibilities from home. Day-to-day tasks include designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and tools that support electrochemical research and data management. The role involves collaborating with researchers and stakeholders to understand requirements, implementing clean and efficient code, and performing testing, debugging, and optimization. The Java Specialist will also assist in integrating applications with databases or web services, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring that solutions remain secure, scalable, and easy to maintain. Qualifications Strong proficiency in core Java programming, including object-oriented design and commonly used libraries and frameworks (e.g., Spring or similar).Experience with web application or API development, including basic knowledge of HTML, RESTful services, and server-side integration.Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling, with the ability to design and optimize queries.Familiarity with software development best practices such as version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, and code review processes.Ability to analyze technical requirements, translate them into robust solutions, and troubleshoot complex issues independently.Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with research and technical teams.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.Interest in electrochemistry, scientific computing, or working with research institutions is a plus, as is prior experience in a scientific or academic environment. .
