Test Automation Architect

As a Test Automation Architect at Optimal Blue, your primary role will be to lead enterprise-level automation strategy across UI, API, service-layer, and data validation workflows. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, evolving, and governing scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, service, and data - Defining automation standards, reusable components, and quality gates - Establishing and executing automation strategy aligned with CI/CD pipelines - Leading migration from legacy automation frameworks such as Selenium to Playwright - Building and maintaining robust automated test suites for UI and APIs - Troubleshooting automation flakiness, pipeline issues, and environment instability - Collaborating with QA, Engineering, and DevOps teams to enhance software testability - Mentoring QA Analysts and Automation Engineers across multiple teams To qualify for this position, you should have: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience - 12+ years of experience in Software QA - 5+ years in Automation Architecture or framework development - Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, and API automation tools like Postman, Bruno, and REST frameworks - Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for Azure DevOps - Solid foundation in test design and quality engineering best practices Preferred qualifications include experience with AI-assisted testing or GitHub Copilot, exposure to cloud-based and distributed systems, experience with data validation and multi-service automation, and a background in mentoring and leading automation initiatives.
