About the role
As a professional database administrator (DBA), your role will involve developing schema and databases, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of the database 24/7. Your main objective will be to facilitate the seamless flow of information within the company, taking into account both the backend data structure and the frontend accessibility for end-users. Key Responsibilities: - Implement, manage, and fine-tune high-availability 24x7 PostgreSQL databases. - Establish policies and procedures related to data management, security, maintenance, and utilization. - Develop, manage, and test database backup & recovery strategies to ensure data integrity. - Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations. - Proactively monitor and tune database performance. - Conduct capacity planning and recommend strategies for application growth in line with industry best practices. - Define and implement database schema and configurations in collaboration with development teams. - Create and maintain documentation of procedures, schemas, and troubleshooting guides for database systems. - Design and implement databases that meet end users' information needs and views. - Define users and ensure timely data distribution in the appropriate format. - Utilize high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data to minimize downtime. - Manage database parameters to provide rapid query responses. - Offer proactive and reactive data management support and training to users. - Enforce and document database policies, procedures, and standards. - Conduct regular tests and evaluations to maintain data security, privacy, and integrity. Qualifications Required: - Must have experience working in AWS and their database-related services, such as RDS. - Experience with other databases like Oracle, MySQL is preferred. - Knowledge of NoSQL technologies. - Working knowledge of Linux operating systems. - Stay updated on the latest industry trends in technologies. - Proven working experience as a Database Administrator. - Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications. - Excellent understanding of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL. - Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding. - Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools. - Knowledge of programming languages API. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically. - Degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.
