Senior Fullstack Azure Cloud Application Developer (Python & Microservices) Job Title: Senior Fullstack Azure Cloud Application Developer (Python & Microservices) Business Area / Division: Electrification Location: [City, Country] Experience Level: Experienced (5+ years Lateral Entry) Type of role: Full time, Permanent About the role In this role you will be part of our engineering team responsible for designing and delivering cloud-native digital solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will use your expertise in Python, fullstack development and microservices to build scalable, secure applications that enable our customers and internal stakeholders to operate more efficiently and sustainably. You will work in an international, cross-functional environment, collaborating closely with architects, product managers, DevOps engineers and other developers. Your responsibilities Cloud-native application development Design, develop and deploy scalable fullstack cloud applications on Microsoft Azure. Build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI). Implement microservices-based architecture and ensure loose coupling, resilience and observability. Integrate applications with Azure services (compute, storage, messaging, databases). Fullstack engineering Develop responsive, user-friendly frontends using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular or Vue.js). Implement end-to-end features across UI, APIs and databases. Ensure high code quality, performance and usability on both frontend and backend. Collaborate with UX/UI and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. Containers & Kubernetes (AKS) Containerize applications using Docker and define/build images (Dockerfile, multi-stage builds). Deploy and operate services on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts. Apply best practices for security, scalability, resilience and cost optimization in containerized workloads. Contribute to observability (logging, metrics, tracing) for microservices running on AKS. DevOps & CI/CD Work with DevOps teams to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions). Support Infrastructure as Code-based deployments (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep). Automate build, test and deployment processes for microservices and frontend applications. Contribute to improving development workflows, testing practices and release processes. Collaboration & ways of working Work as part of an agile team, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews. Conduct code reviews and promote clean code, reusable patterns and secure development practices. Prepare and maintain technical documentation (architecture, APIs, deployment guides). Mentor and support junior developers, sharing best practices and technical know-how. Your background Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience. At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure. At least 5 years of backend development experience in Python, building production-grade APIs/services. At least 5 years fullstack web development experience (frontend + backend). Practical experience in microservices design and implementation. Hands-on experience with Docker and running containerized workloads; experience with Kubernetes / AKS is strongly preferred. Experience working in agile teams and collaborating in a distributed/global environment. Technical skills Cloud (Azure): App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Registry, Storage (Blob/Files/Queues), Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus / Event Hubs, Application Insights, Key Vault, Managed Identities. Backend / APIs: Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI or similar), RESTful API design, ORM frameworks (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Django ORM), authentication & authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT). Frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), React/Angular/Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, state management (Redux / NgRx / Vuex). Containers & orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes fundamentals (Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress), Helm, basic Kubernetes security concepts. DevOps: CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar), Git, basic Infrastructure as Code (Terraform is a plus). Quality & security: Unit and integration testing, secure coding practices
