As a Data Scientist specializing in medical image analysis, your role will involve leading the design, development, and optimization of deep learning models. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading the design, development, and optimization of deep learning models for medical image analysis, focusing on tasks such as segmentation, classification, and object detection. - Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers, promoting best practices in research methodology, coding standards, and documentation. - Conducting advanced error analysis, bias assessment, and domain generalization studies to ensure the robustness of models across diverse populations and imaging devices. - Guiding data storage, preprocessing, and annotation strategies, collaborating with clinical experts to maintain data quality and clinical validity. - Collaborating cross-functionally with radiologists, regulatory teams, and product stakeholders to align AI development with clinical requirements and compliance standards. To excel in this role, you should have: - 3+ years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning. - Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data science and image processing libraries like NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, opencv, and PIL. - Solid fundamental knowledge of machine learning, computer vision, and image processing. - Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as Keras or PyTorch. - Demonstrated proficiency in CNNs and transformer-based architectures (e.g., ViT, Swin) for segmentation, detection, and classification tasks. - A strong background in model evaluation and error analysis. - The ability to merge data science with engineering tasks to ensure seamless integration of AI models into production workflows. - Experience with model optimization techniques such as distillation and ONNX conversion for efficient inference. - Proficiency in using containerization tools like Docker. Desired skills for this role include familiarity with healthcare/radiology datasets, DICOM standards, and PACS integration, experience with domain adaptation and robustness strategies for cross-site/cross-device generalization, and knowledge of scalable backend development for AI applications. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
