Senior Advisor, Data Engineering

As a Senior Advisor in Data Engineering at Dell Technologies, your role will involve designing, implementing, and operating pipelines and policies to enhance data platforms' reliability. You will collaborate with engineering peers and business teams to balance protection, performance, and user experience. Your main responsibilities will include: - Advanced Data Modeling & Graph Architecture: - Design and implement scalable relational, non-relational, and Graph data models. - Map complex, interconnected customer data points using property graphs and knowledge graphs. - Agentic Development & AI Integration: - Build and maintain data pipelines supporting Agentic AI systems. - Ensure seamless, low-latency access to structured knowledge bases and vector stores for LLM agents. - Data Integration & Automation: - Architect robust ETL/ELT processes and orchestrate complex workflows using Airflow. - Integrate real-time streaming (Kafka) and big data frameworks (Spark). - Collaboration & Technical Leadership: - Act as a bridge between data engineering, data science, and AI teams. - Mentor junior engineers and champion modern engineering best practices. - Performance Tuning: - Proactively identify performance bottlenecks in heavy Spark jobs, distributed databases, and Graph queries. - Ensure continuous optimization to improve performance. Key Qualifications for this role include: - Highly proficient in Python and advanced SQL. - Hands-on experience with Graph databases and graph query languages. - Exposure to frameworks supporting autonomous agents or LLM orchestration and vector databases. - Extensive experience with PySpark, Apache Airflow, and Git. - 8 to 12 years of experience in data engineering, backend automation, and advanced data architecture. - Proven leadership skills to lead project squads and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in data engineering or cloud services would be a plus.
