Technical Manager (Contractual Role) Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams, drive technology modernization, and deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Java, .NET, or Python, along with experience in backend development, API-first architecture, cloud platforms, and people management. Key Responsibilities Lead technology modernization initiatives and migrate legacy applications to cloud-native architectures. Drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems and API-driven services. ¢ Define technical strategy, project scope, and engineering best practices. ¢ Ensure high standards of code quality, system performance, reliability, and security. ¢ Collaborate with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to deliver business objectives. ¢ Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. ¢ Promote Agile development, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and engineering excellence. ¢ Support hiring, team growth, and employer branding initiatives. Required Skills ¢ Strong experience in Java (preferred), .NET , or Python . ¢ Expertise in backend development and API-first architecture (REST/GraphQL). ¢ Experience with Microservices , MACH architecture , and cloud-native application development. ¢ Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP . ¢ Good understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices. ¢ Knowledge of secure application development, system scalability, and engineering metrics. ¢ Exposure to AI/ML is an added advantage. Leadership Experience ¢ 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams or multiple delivery pods (up to 40 engineers). ¢ Proven ability to define technical direction and align engineering with business goals. ¢ Strong stakeholder management, mentoring, coaching, and team-building skills. ¢ Experience driving technology transformation and engineering best practices. Experience ¢ 10+ years of overall software engineering experience. ¢ 3+ years of Engineering Manager or Technical Leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications ¢ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
