Senior QC Engineer

Role Overview: As an integral part of the Deltek Engineering and Technology team, you will have the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and quality frameworks for enterprise-grade software systems. Your role will involve owning end-to-end quality assurance for features and releases, ensuring high standards for functionality, performance, security, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile lifecycle. Additionally, you will mentor junior QA engineers and drive continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and frameworks. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and quality frameworks for enterprise-grade software systems. - Own end-to-end quality assurance for features and releases, ensuring high standards for functionality, performance, security, and scalability. - Develop, maintain, and scale automated test frameworks and suites using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar. - Drive API, integration, and system-level testing using both manual and automated approaches. - Partner closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC and Agile lifecycle. - Analyze requirements and architecture to identify test scenarios, edge cases, and quality risks early in the development cycle. - Lead defect management processes, including triage, root cause analysis, and validation of fixes. - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster, high-quality releases. - Perform performance, load, and reliability testing to ensure systems meet enterprise-grade expectations. - Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in test automation, test design, and quality engineering. - Define and track quality metrics, providing visibility into product quality and release readiness. - Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate test creation, improve coverage, and enhance defect detection and analysis. - Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and frameworks to drive efficiency and scalability. Qualifications: - 5-7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or SDET roles. - Strong expertise in both manual and automated testing of web applications, APIs, and distributed systems. - Proven experience building and scaling automation frameworks using languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript. - Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, Karate, or equivalent). - Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). - Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). - Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr). - Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and lead quality initiatives across multiple teams.
