Role Overview: You will be part of a team of passionate engineers, builders, and creators working towards building a more sustainable food system. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop innovative mechanical equipment and sub-systems that will advance processing technologies, starting from concept development to full-scale production. Key Responsibilities: - Conceptualise, design, and develop novel mechanical equipment from early prototypes to pilot-scale builds - Translate process and product requirements into practical machine concepts, mechanisms, assemblies, and test setups - Conduct engineering calculations, CAD modelling, detailing, and design validation to ensure performance, manufacturability, and reliability - Design and enhance test rigs, characterization setups, QC fixtures, and development tools to facilitate product development and maintain quality standards - Support the scale-up of bench-top equipment to pilot and production scale - Collaborate closely with R&D, process, and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and enhance throughput Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field - Proven experience in designing and developing mechanical equipment, preferably in the food processing or manufacturing industry - Proficiency in CAD software and engineering calculations - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams If you are ready to take on the challenge of revolutionizing the food industry and contributing to a more sustainable future, we welcome you to be a part of our team dedicated to making food systems kinder, healthier, and more sustainable.
