You will be part of the India Developer Services team at Deque Systems, a global leader in digital accessibility. As a Senior Developer, you will play a crucial role in owning the technical aspects of our browser extension and AI-powered tooling. Your responsibilities will include leading design and development, mentoring junior team members, collaborating with senior consultants and clients, and ensuring engineering quality to enhance accessibility auditing with modern AI. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the Chrome browser extension used by accessibility consultants. - Architect and implement AI-powered features by integrating LLM APIs, developing MCP servers, and creating automation layers to streamline manual testing. - Own the complete development lifecycle for assigned workstreams, including planning, implementation, testing, and release. - Review code, provide technical guidance to junior team members, and establish coding standards within the team. - Collaborate with leadership and senior consultants to translate accessibility requirements into effective engineering solutions. - Drive proof-of-concept development during aggressive sprints with tight timelines and take the lead in ambiguous situations. - Stay updated on emerging AI tools and frameworks, and introduce relevant advances into the teams workflow. - Contribute to internal tooling, automation pipelines, and reporting infrastructure used by the wider services team. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong full-stack web foundation. - Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, and Node.js; hands-on experience with Chrome Extension APIs is advantageous. - Solid understanding of databases (relational and/or NoSQL) and experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into production applications. - Familiarity with MCP server development, agentic workflows, or AI automation tooling. - Track record of delivering clean, well-tested, maintainable code and conducting effective code reviews. - Knowledge of web accessibility standards, WCAG guidelines, ARIA, and assistive technology testing; experience with axe-core is a plus. - Self-driven, accountable, and capable of taking end-to-end ownership of complex features. - Actively follows AI industry developments and experiments with new tools and models. - Must be based in Hyderabad and willing to work from the office as required.
