About the internship: Civil Engineering Intern - BIM & Drafting Specialist Company: DES Consultants Position: Civil Engineering Intern (BIM Modeling & Drafting) Are you a Civil Engineering or Drafting student looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment DES Consultants is seeking a talented intern who is proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on real-world projects, focus on high-quality structural/civil drafting, and learn production standards from industry experts. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop BIM Models: Build, update, and maintain detailed 3D structural and civil models using Autodesk Revit based on engineering markups. 2. Draft Construction Drawings: Produce clear, accurate, and detailed construction drawing sets (plans, sections, elevations, and details) using AutoCAD and Revit. 3. BIM Model Management: Utilize BIM software to extract drawing sheets, manage object parameters, and maintain project standards across models. 4. Drawing Production & Layout: Convert conceptual sketches, redlines, and layout notes into production-ready project drawings. 5. Quality Control & Accuracy: Conduct thorough quality checks on drawings and models to ensure dimensional accuracy, correct layering, and standard compliance. 6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior drafters and engineers to ensure design intent is accurately represented in visual deliverables. 7. Skill Development: Participate in ongoing mentorship and training to enhance your speed, technical drafting accuracy, and software proficiency. Qualifications & Skills: 1. Pursuing a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Drafting, Architectural Technology, or a related field. 2. Working proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. 3. Understanding of basic BIM principles, drawing organization (sheets, views, schedules), and CAD standards. 4. Sharp attention to detail with a focus on visual presentation and accuracy.
