About the role
Role Overview and Responsibilities: We are seeking an IoT Engineer – Satellite IoT & Data Relay Systems to support the design and deployment of SmallSat-based IoT data relay solutions. This role requires strong understanding of end-to-end IoT systems across space and ground segments and the ability to translate customer use cases into practical satellite-IoT architectures. The position is both highly technical and customer-facing, working closely with engineering, payload, and sales teams. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Design and support end-to-end satellite IoT architectures covering devices, RF links, satellites, ground stations, and cloud platforms Optimize low-power, low-data-rate device-to-satellite communication under high latency and intermittent connectivity Interface with SmallSat/CubeSat payload teams, accounting for link budgets, orbital dynamics, power, and scheduling constraints Apply RF fundamentals including link budgets, interference, Doppler, antennas, and regulatory constraints Support ground segment and cloud integration, including data decoding, buffering, retries, and scalable ingestion pipelines Act as technical support for pre-sales activities, solution design, feasibility analysis, and customer discussions Assist with pilot deployments, PoCs, and field debugging of device, RF, and data issues Candidate Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Communication, Embedded Systems, Aerospace, or related fields 3+ years of experience in IoT systems (terrestrial or satellite) Strong understanding of embedded systems, RF communication, and networking (TCP/IP, MQTT, CoAP) Solid knowledge of satellite communication principles, LEO constraints, and ground station operations Experience with LoRa/LoRaWAN, NB-IoT/LTE-M, or similar low-power protocols is a plus
