MySQL Database Engineer

As an experienced MySQL database administrator at Dhwani, your responsibilities will include ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL instances. You will be in charge of orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning database instances. Collaboration with other teams for documentation and specifications will also be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations - Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases - Prepare documentation and specifications - Handle common database procedures like upgrades, backups, recovery, migration, etc. - Profile server resource usage, optimize, and tweak as necessary - Collaborate with team members and stakeholders - Write queries and generate reports Qualifications Required: - Strong proficiency in MySQL database management, with decent experience in recent versions - Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines like InnoDB and MyISAM - Experience with replication configuration in MySQL - Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL - Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements - Knowledge of MySQL features such as the event scheduler - Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications - Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases and monitoring tools like maxscale and Proxy SQL - Proficiency in working in a Linux environment - Advantageous to have knowledge of Docker - Understanding of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds compared to other popular relational databases - Hands-on experience in writing complex queries and generating reports as per requirements - Experience in handling multi-location databases If you are a Bachelors degree holder in an analytical related field, including information technology, science, or engineering discipline, then you meet the educational qualification for this role at Dhwani.
