About the role
Design and develop mechanical structures, mechanisms, and automated equipment for high volume SSA satellite production Lead projects through the full product lifecycle, including concept design, detailed design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and production launch Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment Collaborate with flight engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to develop satellite hardware, factory equipment, and manufacturing processes concurrently Solve complex mechanical engineering problems with a focus on speed, efficiency, and manufacturability Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to maintain project schedules, cost targets, and technical requirements Perform equipment assembly, commissioning, and validation of designed systems Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Automotive Engineering Minimum 5 years of professional mechanical engineering experience, space domain preferred Experience in mechanical system design using 3D CAD software and 2D engineering drawings Experience with structural analysis and end to end product development Preferred Skills Experience in structural design and mechanical analysis Experience in custom machine design and electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, linear motion systems, bearings, and lifting or rigging equipment Ability to perform hand calculations for structural and mechanical analysis Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturability DFM and Design for Assembly DFA Experience taking products from prototype development to high volume manufacturing Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD&T Experience with finite element analysis FEA tools such as NASTRAN, ANSYS Workbench, or Siemens NX Advanced Simulation Experience in product development, assembly integration & testing, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis FMEA , and error proofing methodologies Knowledge of design and testing standards by NASA, ECSS, GSFC etc Design for Manufacturing & Assembly DFMA Understands Failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis FMECA General Requirements Ability to work in a mission focused, operational environment Ability to think critically and make independent decisions Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule Writing and delivering technical documents and briefings Verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skills Travel occasionally as necessary Job Location Hebbal,
