SQL & NoSQL Database Administrator

As a Standout SQL and NoSQL Database Administrator at one of the leading Telecom companies, your role will involve the following responsibilities: - Handling issues related to performance, including baseline check phase and implementation (DB hardening) and DR sync issue 2nd level resolution. - Backup and restoration in supported assets, whether scheduled or Adhoc. - Performing export and import activities as required. - Applying database security patches and performing DR and backup restoration drills. - Cloning databases for supported assets and creating and configuring database jobs. - Handling instances of database hung/termination unexpectedly and reconfiguring DR for the existing setup. - Configuring and restoring Flashback in databases and monitoring ASM while adding space. - Starting and stopping databases, ASM, and RAC services, providing necessary support for restoration or drills. Qualifications and Skills required for this role include: - Proficiency in at least one OOP and/or scripting language, with a willingness to learn Java if not already known. - Strong database administration skills for RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Ignite DB, etc.) in a Linux environment. - Knowledge of DB replication server technologies like Data Guard. - Strong understanding of query plans, optimizer decisions, and providing recommendations for SQL Query/Index tuning. - Proficiency in SQL, Unix/Linux, and database performance tuning, with the ability to work with command line tools.
