Staff Software Engineer - System Design

Role Overview: You will play a key role in improving existing systems and guiding long-term evolutions in the backend engineering space. Your contributions towards implementation and system design will be crucial in maintaining and evolving software systems to meet growing business demands with high availability and performance. Key Responsibilities: - Actively engage in coding, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure high-quality output. - Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance, and easily modifiable distributed systems. - Continuously enhance system performance to meet customer needs using best practices for scalable distributed systems. - Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers to promote technical excellence and continuous learning. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of relevant experience in backend engineering, focusing on building large-scale, highly responsive, fault-tolerant services in SaaS and cloud-based applications. - Strong experience in building highly reliable, responsive services backed by relational and non-relational data stores. - Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, high-performance distributed systems. - Proven ability to deliver well-crafted, tested, and maintainable code solutions to complex technical challenges. - Experience with multiple software stacks and cloud native software solutions. - Proficiency in implementing RESTful APIs for outward-facing services and using gRPC for internal service-to-service communication.
