About the role
Key responsibilities
- Execution of Routine / Preventive / Breakdown maintenance of port equipment.
- Routine inspections on equipments and corrective actions thereafter.
- Attend to breakdowns and fault diagnosis and correction on equipments.
- Reporting of jobs after completion.
- Undertake any specific task / responsibility assigned by Sr. Executives/Asst Manager/Manager
- Assist the Asst Manager/Sr. Executives in managing the shift when required.
- Ensure that the company health, safety & environment policy and procedures are observed.
- Report on any unsafe conditions in the Terminal or area of work.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement process and to the meeting of relevant objectives and targets.
- Observe the provisions of IGT’s management system.
- House keeping in work place/Equipment
- In the absence of Asst Manager/Sr. Executive, take the responsibility of Asst Manager/Sr. Executive when informed by higher authorities
- Ensure, recording of the jobs, manpower and equipment status in the shift logbook. Verify job reports submitted by the shift staff
- Ensure compliance and implement: • OH&S Rules and Regulations. • Hazard and Risk Management • Accident Reports • IGT’s Standard Operating Procedures. • Work permits
Qualifications & Competencies
- a) BE/B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience. b) In case of BE/B.Tech, at least 3 years relevant experience in heavy lift equipments / container handling equipments, in case of Diploma holders, at least 5 years of relevant experience.
