Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for aviation and field-deployed systems, with emphasis on reliability and maintainability. Implement Linux-based solutions for embedded and edge environments using C/C++ and associated toolchains. Develop and maintain software for serial and networked device communications (UART, RS-232, TCP/IP) and sensor interfaces. Support modernization and migration of legacy applications to contemporary architectures and cloud-connected platforms. Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues and perform system-level debugging and validation. Participate in design and code reviews, testing, deployment, and creation of technical documentation. Collaborate with architects, systems engineers, and integration teams to improve system performance and operational readiness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience with strong Linux systems programming skills. Proficiency in C and C++ for constrained and embedded environments. Experience with hardware/software integration, device communications, and sensor integration. Familiarity with UART, RS-232, TCP/IP, serial communications, and common embedded interfaces. Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills, including system integration and validation. Good written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to engineering problems. Preferred Qualifications Aviation industry experience or prior work on aviation-related systems is a strong plus. Private Pilot License (PPL) or other aviation certification is advantageous. Experience with satellite communications, telemetry, weather systems, or flight operations technology. Background in software modernization, cloud-connected systems, and distributed platforms.
