This is an onsite role based in Richmond, VA, focused on ensuring reliability, security, and performance across several database platforms while mentoring junior DBAs and leading database initiatives. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle RAC, Microsoft SQL Server, and Amazon DynamoDB environments. Perform performance tuning, backup and recovery, and design/maintain high-availability solutions. Troubleshoot production issues, manage incident response, and ensure database security and compliance. Lead database modernization projects, implement monitoring and automation, and document procedures. Mentor junior DBAs, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Qualifications 10+ years of hands-on database administration experience across PostgreSQL, Oracle RAC, Microsoft SQL Server, and modern NoSQL (Amazon DynamoDB). Strong scripting and automation skills: SQL plus Shell and Python preferred. Experience operating in both AWS and on-premises environments and implementing HA/DR strategies. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and apply database security best practices. Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams; must be able to work onsite in Richmond, VA. Ready to Apply?
