The role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, configuration, lifecycle management, and close collaboration with security, systems, and application teams to maintain reliable, secure connectivity across LAN/WAN environments. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyze network performance using industry tools; recommend improvements to maintain service levels. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN systems. Perform preventive maintenance and lifecycle management for network hardware and firmware. Deploy and verify network configurations following established standards and change control processes. Diagnose and resolve connectivity, latency, and bandwidth issues across LAN/WAN and MPLS environments. Integrate and support cloud connectivity solutions, including Direct Connect/ExpressRoute/Cloud Interconnect links. Collaborate with security teams to implement and improve firewall rules, IPS/IDS, SSL inspection, and PKI-based solutions (802.1x, certificates). Maintain accurate network documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures. Participate in disaster recovery planning and on-call rotations to support critical incidents. Work with vendors and service providers to coordinate installations, upgrades, and escalations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; or equivalent hands-on experience. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in network support or engineering roles, including ISP or FTTH/PON exposure preferred. Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPN, and network security technologies; experience with MPLS, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, and VLANs (802.1Q). Experience with major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia) and Layer 3 routing technologies. Familiarity with cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect) and network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Datadog, Nagios, Wireshark). Working knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and practical PKI experience (802.1x, SSL inspection/offloading). Strong analytical, documentation, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. CCNA preferred; progress toward or completion of CCNP is strongly desired. Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to on-call incidents, and work independently to drive tasks to completion. Valid driver's license if role requires travel or site visits.
