About the role
As an Application Security Engineer / Security Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our applications and systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and implementing application security best practices across multiple development teams. - Performing secure code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments. - Integrating security tools such as SAST, DAST, IAST, and dependency scanning into CI/CD pipelines. - Collaborating with engineering and DevOps teams to ensure secure design and deployment of applications. - Guiding teams on authentication, authorization, cryptography, and secure communication protocols. - Ensuring compliance with security standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NYDFS, etc. - Mentoring and training developers on secure coding practices. Your technical expertise should include: - 7 years of experience in software development and security. - Strong coding background in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#. - In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). - Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code. - Expertise in application security frameworks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques. Preferred qualifications for this role include: - A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. - Proven experience in leading technical or security initiatives. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams.
