Backup and Storage Admin

Job description: Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain backup and storage infrastructure, primarily using Tandberg data tools. Perform daily backup operations, monitoring, and validation of data integrity and restore procedures. Schedule and execute periodic backups and ensure adherence to backup policies. Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, hardware issues, and data restore requests. Monitor storage utilization, perform capacity planning, and recommend upgrades when necessary. Maintain and document backup configuration, recovery procedures, and DR policies. Coordinate with internal teams to support server and database backup requirements. Ensure compliance with company data retention and protection policies. Technical Skills Required: Hands-on experience with Tandberg backup solutions. Good knowledge of tape libraries, disk storage systems, and backup software. Familiarity with storage protocols: NAS, SAN, iSCSI, RAID. Experience with Windows/Linux servers and basic scripting (PowerShell or Shell). Understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and implementation. Knowledge of data security, encryption, and retention compliance.
