System Engineer

Project execution: Drive the installation, configuration, and testing of all hardware and software components within the data center, including servers, operating systems (Windows, Linux), storage systems (SAN/NAS), and network devices. System design and architecture: Collaborate with project stakeholders to design a scalable, resilient, and secure data center architecture that meets business requirements. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, network layouts, and operational procedures. System integration: Ensure seamless integration between various data center systems and existing enterprise-wide infrastructure. Virtualization: Deploy and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and optional containerization platforms like Dockers & Kubernetes to optimize resource utilization. Automation: Develop and maintain custom scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks, improving efficiency and reducing human error. Backup and recovery: Implement and manage robust backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data safety and business continuity. Security: Enforce and maintain data center security best practices, including access controls, firewalls, and security patches. Capacity planning: Monitor growth trends and forecast future capacity requirements for servers, storage, and networking. Collaboration and support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and IT personnel. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for infrastructure-related issues. Required skills and qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 12-15 years of proven experience in a Systems Engineer role, with significant involvement in data center projects. Expertise in data center infrastructure management, including hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Solid experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware ). Strong knowledge of server operating systems, including Windows Server and various Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat). Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switches). Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash). Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Zabbix ). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA Data Center, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.
