Specialist- Edge Intelligence

As a Specialist Systems Engineer at Eaton Corporation's Center for Intelligent Power, you will be responsible for developing edge intelligence solutions by designing, developing, testing, and deploying ML/AI based intelligent algorithms on edge platforms/controllers. Your role will involve interacting with technical leaders and experts from various business segments within Eaton. You will need to have a strong systems understanding, digital signal processing, machine learning, and AI skills, along with a model-based development skillset. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and test DSP and ML/AI models developed in simulink, including code generation, optimization, and testing - Implement system to component requirements, unit test cases-HIL/SIL, software integration, and delivery - Solve problems and debug on actual hardware, demonstrating a track record of delivering products in a production environment - Recommend and set up appropriate performance monitoring solutions, author and implement based on the results - Document and demonstrate solutions using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, code snippets, and performance instruments - Author high-quality, highly-performance, unit-tested code based on business and Edge AI needs, and participate in code reviews - Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test to create high-quality solutions that solve end-user problems Qualifications: - Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of experience - 7+ years of progressive experience in delivering technology solutions in a production environment - 7+ years of experience in embedded systems development with a proven track record of shipping high-quality products - 5+ years of experience with modelling tools MATLAB/simulink, automatic code generation, HIL testing - High-level analytics ability, understanding engineering theory and principles of design - Experience in embedded systems development, troubleshooting, and real-time operating systems - 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, edge-specific machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow Lite Skills: - Proven track record of problem solving, system integration, verification, and validation - Programming Knowledge in MATLAB, Simulink, Embedded C/C++, Python - Understanding of SW Development life-cycle process & tools - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and concepts, including hands-on experience with Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence - Knowledge of software compliance metrics and standards - Experience with Ethernet, CAN, modbus, TCP/IP Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of IoT technologies - Experience in Design Thinking or human-centered methods to identify and creatively solve customer needs - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills - Ability to understand academic research and apply new data science techniques - Experience working in larger teams with established practices - Experience working with global teams and strong communication skills to interact effectively - Innate curiosity and problem-solving skills - Self-directed and drive to learn, with the ability to independently push the envelope and grow personally and as a team member - Team player with experience in small, fast-moving teams As a Specialist Systems Engineer at Eaton Corporation's Center for Intelligent Power, you will be responsible for developing edge intelligence solutions by designing, developing, testing, and deploying ML/AI based intelligent algorithms on edge platforms/controllers.
