· Lead the development of detailed design and coordination of dry utility systems such as Duct Banks for electrical, telecommunication and gas networks. · Support the design development, coordination, and design considerations for dry utilities, including hydro, gas, and telecommunications, within transportation and urban corridors. · Apply subsurface utility engineering principles to evaluate utility data quality and support informed design decisions. · Interface with multiple disciplines to resolve utility conflicts and support approvals. · Review and guide utility design deliverables to ensure technical quality and coordination across disciplines. · Provide technical support during construction, including clarification responses as required. · Mentor intermediate and junior staff and contribute positively to client relationships. · Conflict analysis and resolution in 2D and 3D CAD environment. · Ownership of QA/QC process of design deliverables. · Support preparation of technical specifications and contract documents.
· Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. · 10+ years of experience in municipal and/or transportation infrastructure projects. · Proven ability to design dry utility systems including electrical design components. · Experience with dry utility coordination and design considerations, including interface with hydro, gas, and telecommunications infrastructure. · Strong communication skills and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams. · Strong Working knowledge of CAD platforms (Civil 3D & AutoCAD) is a requirement particularly for review and coordination. · Strong working knowledge of BIM process, development of design and review process over Autodesk construction cloud (ACC) is preferred. · Previous experience working with municipalities, utility companies, developers, and consulting engineering firms is considered an asset. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team environment. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills · Familiarity with utility designs for complex projects such as airports and rail infrastructure will be an asset.
