About the role
As an AMETEK employee responsible for validating communication ports, relays, RF interfaces, analog & digital circuits, LEDs, push buttons, and other boardlevel I/O using automation frameworks and lab instrumentation, your role will involve: - Automating boardlevel I/O testing across various interfaces like Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C, relays, RF modules, ADC circuits, LEDs, push buttons, and digital I/O. - Developing automation scripts for functional, regression, and performance tests. - Building and maintaining test fixtures for signal injection, RF setups, relay actuation, ADC simulation, LED sensing, etc. - Integrating and controlling lab instruments (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, RF analyzers, signal generators) under automation. - Analyzing test results and assisting in debugging issues using waveforms, logs, and electrical measurements. - Supporting improvements in test coverage and execution efficiency, contributing to documentation and test processes. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Foundational understanding of hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, UART/SPI/I2C serial communication, ADC fundamentals, analog & digital circuits, and relays. - Basic programming or scripting experience (Python, etc.) with a strong desire to expand automation skills. - Handson exposure to lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) through coursework, labs, or internships. - Ability to read datasheets and interpret simple schematics. - Strong problemsolving ability and interest in debugging hardware/embedded systems. - Eagerness to learn new test tools, frameworks, and measurement techniques. Preferred qualifications include: - Internship or project experience involving hardware testing or embedded systems. - Familiarity with automated test frameworks or instrumentcontrol libraries. - Understanding of RF basics (signal strength, frequency, bandwidth, etc). Soft skills required for this role are: - Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. - Clear communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with hardware, firmware, and QA teams. - Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn quickly in a technical environment.
