Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PostgreSQL Database Administrator role based in Delhi. The PostgreSQL DBA will manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, backup, and recovery. The role involves monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning and optimization measures to ensure high availability and reliability. The DBA will design and refine database schemas, support application teams with query optimization, and set up and manage replication and failover mechanisms. Day-to-day responsibilities also include troubleshooting database-related issues, enforcing security and access control policies, and collaborating with development and QA teams to support deployments and testing. Technical Skills: 3-5 years of experience working as a PostgreSQL DBA, with strong experience managing databases in cloud environments. Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure for managing PostgreSQL databases. Proficiency in data migration from on-premise databases to cloud instances. Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. Experience with high availability and disaster recovery configurations, such as replication and clustering. Familiarity with security best practices for databases, including encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and auditing. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory): Certified PostgreSQL DBA or similar certifications. Cloud certifications related to database management, such as AWS Certified Database Specialty or Google Cloud Professional Database Engineer, are a plus.
