About the role
You will be working with Embitel Technologies, a Volkswagen AG (VW) Group Company, as an Android Auto / In-Car Experience Developer. Your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Act as a developer for Android Auto applications focused on holistic in-car experiences. - Define and evolve system and software architecture across multiple domains (audio, lighting, seat comfort, etc.). - Ensure seamless integration of Android Auto with vehicle-specific features and signals. - Utilize advanced knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet). - Drive feature planning and technical alignment in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) setup. - Support development teams working primarily in Kotlin and C++. - Collaborate closely with UI/UX, HMI, and function owners to ensure technical feasibility and user-centered design. - Work with Jira, Confluence, Git, and other industry-standard tools for traceability and planning. Qualifications required for this role include: - Expert-level experience in Android development within the automotive domain. - Proven background in Android Auto development and integration. - Strong skills in Kotlin and C++. - In-depth understanding of vehicle signal management and in-vehicle networking. - Strong knowledge of VW ecosystems. - Experience working in large-scale automotive development. - Experience with SAFe, agile development, and automotive-grade tools (Jira, Git, Confluence). - Excellent communication skills. - Experience using Jetpack Compose UI APP Dev Kit. - A strong problem-solving mindset. - Fluency in English (spoken and written). Additionally, you will have the following additional responsibilities: - Development, implementation, and testing of software on embedded devices within an agile software development process. - Functional validation and optimization across various abstraction layers, including in-vehicle testing within the complete vehicle system. - Simplification of complex problems and implementation of solutions as high-quality software, taking responsibility for integrating solutions into overall functional development to deliver the best possible customer experience. - Collaboration with other development teams and subject matter experts to ensure A-SPICE compliant automotive software development. - Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture and interfaces (nice to have HCP3 expertise).
